Renowned physicians Richard P. Brown and Patricia L. Gerbarg, founders of the Breath-Body-Mind program, will hold a BBM Workshop April 12 at Unity of Ft. Myers from 9:30 a.m. until noon.
Grounded in the principles of neurophysiology, the Breath-Body-Mind program utilizes simple and highly effective techniques such as Coherent Breathing and gentle Qigong exercises to enhance the body-mind connection, optimize energy levels, and promote overall health and wellness.
Dr. Richard P. Brown, an Associate Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, and Dr. Patricia L. Gerbarg, an Assistant Clinical Professor in Psychiatry at New York Medical College, bring a wealth of expertise to this program. Both esteemed professionals have co-authored numerous books and chapters on mental health and well-being, emphasizing the importance of complementary and alternative treatments in psychiatry.

Angel Rafael Braña-López M.D. M.P.H. M.S.B.I.
Dr. Angel Braña is a Fellow of the American College of Preventive Medicine, a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, and a Member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. He also practices the subspecialty of Medical Informatics.
He studied medicine in Zaragoza, Spain, earned a Master in Public Health in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and a Master in Sciences in, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He retired as a CAPTAIN from the U.S. Public Health Service (equivalent to Colonel in other Uniformed Services) after more than 28 years of service in clinically underserved areas.
Pertinent to this workshop, Dr. Braña is an Acupuncturist Physician and Yoga instructor coaching individuals to manage chronic pain based on seminal studies at Boston Medical Center. He is a senior instructor of Voluntarily Regulated Breathing Practices under the rubric of "Breath-Body-Mind Program. ™ BBM is an evidence-based program to increase awareness of the Healing Power of the Breath to enhance physical and mental health.
Pam Minton is a retired teacher of 37 years, an owner of a yoga studio in Brooklyn New York, currently maintaining health through physical exercise and coherent breathing. Assistant instructor in Breath Body Mind.
